Frequently Asked Questions

I already have an alarm system. Can you monitor it?

In most cases, yes! If your system was installed pre-2005, we will likely recommend you to upgrade it though.

Can you respond to my property if I'm away and there is an incident?

Yes, we can help you source a reputable provider for a first response and can help to close any security breach that may have occurred.

I bought a DIY security system from a local retailer. Can you help me to install it?

Unfortunately, we do not provide this service. We’re not the biggest fans of DIY systems as many of the people we’re trying to protect you from, know how to bypass them.

Can you help me to upgrade my locks and my security screen doors?

Yes, we work closely with local professionals to help you solve these problems.

What happens if we lose power to the property?

Firstly, we recommend the installation of a Victorian Power Industry lock to any external meterbox containing switch that can shut off the supply of electricity to the property. Secondly, our alarm systems all have battery backups that will maintain the system during a power outage. We will recommend a UPS system to help maintain CCTV systems. Any of our professionally monitored alarm systems reporting via IP/Internet, all have 4G redundancy as a secondary communication path.

Can I monitor the systems myself?

Yes, we have options that allow our clients to self-monitor, although consider what would happen if you’re out of the area, at a function, ill or sleep through the notification.

Why should my systems be monitored?

A professionally monitored security system will ensure any activations are actioned, helping to prevent loss or reduce the size of the loss.

Can I add more detectors or cameras at a later date?

Yes, if you’re planning further development or your budget doesn’t stretch to cover everything straight away, we can work with you to expand your systems in your time frame.

How many alarm detectors or cameras will I need?

We design our systems to cover approaches to the property and points of entry. Internally, we may recommend additional detectors to assist in detecting motion within the home.

What should we do to improve security at our home or business?

Your should be looking holistically at the problem. Firstly you can try to restrict access to the property using fencing, security screen doors and quality locks. Secondly, a security alarm system can provide you with an early alert to unauthorised access. Lastly, your CCTV system will provide you with evidence of the security breach.
